Stainless steel is the most forgiving of our metals in service and the least forgiving in fabrication. It shows every scratch during handling, distorts if too much heat goes into a weld, and demands that the grain direction be planned across an entire elevation before the first panel is cut.
Handled properly it is unmatched. A mirror-polished stainless column reads as liquid. A hairline-finished panel stays clean-looking in a lobby where a softer metal would already be marked.
It is also our workhorse for concealed structure: the frames inside a door leaf, the stiffeners behind a cladding panel, the sub-frame under a stone counter.
