Textured finish
Special texture
Surfaces worked or grown to a tactile grain — crystalline, mottled, stony, or crazed like old glaze — that catches side light and changes as the light moves. Each texture is developed on the metal it will be used on and kept as a reference sample.

Metals
Brass, copper, stainless steel, mild steel

Worth knowing before you choose it
Deep textures collect dirt and grease, so they belong away from kitchens, counters and the outdoors. Where the surface will be touched, choose a shallower grain.
Looking after it
Dust with a soft brush and wipe; a deep grain holds what a flat surface would shed.
A finish is always approved on a physical sample of the metal you are using, under the light it will live in. Pictures on a screen only show the character of it.
