Patinated finish
Smoky effect
Soft clouds of dark tone drifting across a warm ground. It is grown by heat and chemistry rather than painted, so it sits in the metal rather than on it, and the drift is different on every sheet.

Worth knowing before you choose it
Suits panels, cladding and furniture seen as a whole. On a small part the cloud can read as a mark rather than a finish; look at the sample from the distance the piece will be seen.
Looking after it
Lacquered, it is simply wiped. Left bare it goes on developing, and softens where hands touch it — choose which you want at the outset.
A finish is always approved on a physical sample of the metal you are using, under the light it will live in. Pictures on a screen only show the character of it.
