Compare finishes side by side
Choose two to four finishes. A finish is always approved on a physical sample of your metal, so ask for samples of the ones you like.

|---|---|---|
| Family | Patinated | Polished |
| How it looks | Green, deep blue, algae, deep red, burnished, rustic, deep white and a range of blacks — colour grown in the metal, not painted on. | Softer and more open than hairline, with a matt reflection that sits comfortably beside stone and timber. |
| Metals | Copper, brass, bronze, zinc | All metals |
| Where it suits | Indoors and outdoors | Indoors and outdoors |
| Worth knowing | A living finish. | Small repairs blend better than on hairline but a damaged area is still re-brushed across the whole face. |
| Looking after it | Nothing abrasive, ever. | Along the grain, mild detergent, soft cloth. |
