How it looks	A fine unidirectional grain.	Design bitten into the surface, producing fine detail and artwork that cannot be achieved mechanically. Worth knowing	A scratch across the grain is visible from a distance.	Shallow by nature, so it wears where hands and feet pass — a wall or a panel, not a counter or a step.	The dents hold dust and, outside, water.	Small repairs blend better than on hairline but a damaged area is still re-brushed across the whole face.
